Dinosaurs and Meteorites: A Flash from the Past @ The Sherman Museum
Jul 12 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

The Sherman Museum’s annual “Dino Days” is open and T-Rex (Bill) is back!! This year we have expanded our Dinosaur exhibit to include meteorites. Our theme this year is Dinosaurs and Meteorites: A Blast from the Past.

Why include meteorites?
65 million years ago, a major galactic event triggered a massive reaction on earth – a monstrous meteorite (falling star) hit the earth. Possibly, this event led to the demise of the dinosaurs. The search continues to find more clues as to what happened to end their time on the planet. Was it meteorites? What are meteorites? How do we find them? What happened to cause their extinction? Where did it happen?

Two well-known experts — Geoffrey Notkin, CEO Aerolite Meteorites & President of the National Space Society, and John Bennitt, owner Dinosaur Brokers & PaleoBOND, — have loaned their collections to the Museum so the public can understand how space and time touched the earth and changed the future of the dinosaurs forever!

More information about Geoffrey Notkin can be found on his websites: www.geoffnotkin.com and www.aerolite.org. John’s website: www.dinosaurbrokers.com.

The Museum is open Wednesday – Saturday, 10 am – 4pm. Please call 903-893-7623 for more information or buy tickets online at https://theshermanmuseum.org/tickets/

Learn How to Make Stained Glass Window Clings @ Hope on Houston
Jul 12 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Come learn how to turn any of your windows in your house into a simulated Stained Glass window by using clings. So there is no need to take out or replace a window, you will make the cling then it will stick to your window all by itself. It blends with your window and looks stunning. You will love it. I have be doing this for 15 years now and selling all over the world. I will teach you my secrets for beautiful windows.

No residue if you take it off and it will last as long as you leave it up. I have had mine up for 12 years and just added a new one to my front room I just love. I will post a picture.

I will have several patterns for you, or you can bring your own picture. I will teach you how to simplify your picture to get that stained glass look. Please let me know if you are going to bring your own photo and I will let you know what I need you to do.

You will be supplied all that you need to make your stained glass cling in the class but I will also sell you any extra colors you might want or supplies to do more at home. I can get you window paint at a much lower cost than the stores so you can do many of your own windows at home. ( There are limited stores that even sell this type of paint)

So this is 3 Friday’s in July 5th, 12th and the 26th. the cost is 50.00 you will do 2 to 3 clings depending on how fast you are. We always have a drink and a treat for you here included in the price.

Question welcome 903-818-6102. This class is for 12 and up unless the child is advanced in art.

We will only have 15 spots open so get your tickets. If you can’t or don’t want to buy tickets on line call me and reserve your spot.
