Eisenhower State Park
Texas Parks and Wildlife

Where and When: The Fire Pit at Deer Haven Rec Hall on March 9th at 2:00 PM and at the Cedar Hollow Pavilion on March the 16th at 2:00 PM.

Duration: The program will last about an hour, but participants can stay and swap stories until the food runs out!

Expect to:
• Learn a little bit about the tradition and history of cast iron cookware
• Learn the basics of how to properly care for and use cast iron
• Observe a cooking demonstration
• Enjoy a sweet treat and maybe even swap some recipes of tips and tricks from our rangers or other veteran Dutch oven chefs

All ages are welcomed! Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event and pets must remain on a leash at all times. Please email if you plan on attending and/or cooking for this event so that rangers may have an approximate headcount.

Fees: Normal day-use fees apply.

Remember to bring plenty of water and to apply sunscreen and bug spray before you arrive. Camp chairs and personal/re-useable utensils (reduce, reuse, recycle!) are recommended, also.
*Program is subject to cancellation due to weather.
