The Sherman Museum’s annual “Dino Days” is open and T-Rex (Bill) is back!! This year we have expanded our Dinosaur exhibit to include meteorites. Our theme this year is Dinosaurs and Meteorites: A Blast from the Past.

Why include meteorites?
65 million years ago, a major galactic event triggered a massive reaction on earth – a monstrous meteorite (falling star) hit the earth. Possibly, this event led to the demise of the dinosaurs. The search continues to find more clues as to what happened to end their time on the planet. Was it meteorites? What are meteorites? How do we find them? What happened to cause their extinction? Where did it happen?

Two well-known experts — Geoffrey Notkin, CEO Aerolite Meteorites & President of the National Space Society, and John Bennitt, owner Dinosaur Brokers & PaleoBOND, — have loaned their collections to the Museum so the public can understand how space and time touched the earth and changed the future of the dinosaurs forever!

More information about Geoffrey Notkin can be found on his websites: www.geoffnotkin.com and www.aerolite.org. John’s website: www.dinosaurbrokers.com.

The Museum is open Wednesday – Saturday, 10 am – 4pm. Please call 903-893-7623 for more information or buy tickets online at https://theshermanmuseum.org/tickets/
