E. O. Cox moved to Sherman, Texas in 1999 with her family and graduated from Sherman High School in 2003. She is a graduate of Austin College with a major in Art. There she began directing the focus of her artwork toward themes of psychological alchemy. Her strongest influences include Leonora Carrington, C. G. Jung, Jorge Borges, and William Blake. She also draws from mythological and religious imagery, icons, archetypes, and ancient and traditional art from a diversity of cultures. Her work often includes these themes and imagery directly or by reference, as well as the characters and objects that populate an interior terrain.
